Retinol in winter: a manual, not a myth

Retinol in winter: a manual, not a myth

Retinol is not "banned in winter" — it is banned without protection. That distinction matters.

What actually changes

Skin loses water faster in winter and indoor heating adds to it. So we do not change the retinol; we change what goes around it: a richer moisturiser, a lower frequency to start with, and SPF even on a grey day.

Our protocol

  • Weeks 1–2: twice a week, over your cream.
  • Weeks 3–4: every other day, if there is no flaking.
  • After that: by how your skin behaves, not by the calendar.

If your skin feels tight, that is not "getting used to it" — that is a signal to go slower.
